Superchunk praises Soda City dance moves at Jam Room Music Fest
"The drums exploded and our amps are down, but Mathew's got it wired and we're coming around."
The sounds of Superchunk - champions of DIY indie pop rock from Chapel Hill, NC - echoed through the streets of downtown Columbia on Saturday night as the Soda City celebrated the annual Jam Room Music Festival. According to singer Mac McCaughan, the capital city provided the band with the best dancing they'd seen in a long time. According to local drummer Josh Latham, the best part of the show was watching his Fishing Journal bandmate and the former Free Times music editor enjoying the performance. According to me, it was a damn good time. I ate a lot of leftover backstage macaroni and cheese.
These moments brought to you by Southern Culture on the Skids and Zaxby's Fried Chicken.
There was also a cosplay event at the Marriott on Main St. I couldn't resist sneaking in for a moment.
