Private Tutoring for Photographers
This fall I've been working with some youth at a local elementary school for an artist in residence program and it's been a blast. As a result, I've come to the conclusion that I should make myself available to more folks of any age or skill level, who have a desire learn more about photography. And for every hour of tutoring that is paid for, I will donate an hour working with more youth at local schools.
I've been a professional photographer for almost twenty years and officially consider myself a "freelance photojournalist and commercial photographer." I currently work with the most prominent advertising agencies in town and have shot national projects for ESPN, Dove Soap and the ACLU. But my real passion is in photojournalism where I work with Getty Images, The Associated Press, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Time, NPR, The Guardian and more. I graduated with a B.A. in Media Arts from the University of South Carolina in 2001 where I spent most of my time making photos for the student newspaper. This past year I've won "Best Picture Story" by the South Carolina Press Association, named a finalist for Jasper's visual artist of the year, received the Atlantic Institute Media and Communications Award, and named by Time as one of 50 must follow Instagram users in the United States.
I currently offer tutoring packages starting at $150 (for two one hour sessions) and if you send an email with "TUTORING" as the subject line to [email protected] we can book a time. Travel is additional.
Two one hour sessions: $150
Five one hour sessions: $300
Ten one hour sessions: $500
