The Whig - Columbia SC
Three days following the June 17 church massacre in Charleston, SC over one thousand people gathered to show their support for the removal of the Confederate battle flag from the capitol grounds in Columbia, SC Saturday, June 20, 2015. The flag was originally placed atop the statehouse dome in 1961 and then relocated in 2000 to the Confederate Monument at the intersection of Main Street and Route #1.
