I didn't expect to see anybody at New Brookland Tavern when I dropped by mid-afternoon on Tuesday to double check my work schedule (3:30 p.m. is like near dawn in rock n roll time). Then I saw a giant tour bus and packs of my club co-workers and was quickly reminded that a band that was on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine was to play a free show later in the evening. I figured I'd be back in about six hours and shoved off on my bicycle across the Gervais St. Bridge for some daytime adventures. I liberated a boy's cake from the clutches of a gnat which inspired him to rap about free bagels, drank some coffee, ate some fruit and then talked about Halloween with friends until it was time to head back to photograph the Sheepdogs' free show at New Brookland.
