Yesterday’s firing of U.S. Attorney General Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III, and the appointment of Matt Whitaker as acting attorney general and head of the “Mueller investigation” led to nationwide rapid response protests organized by MoveOn.org, who claimed events in over 100 cities. About 175 demonstrators gathered at the SC Statehouse after President Trump removed Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein from his oversight position of Mueller’s Russia probe and replaced him with Whittaker, crossing what organizers called “a red line.”
