Summer into Winter - Harvest Season in the Old South

On Monday, when I took this same drive down South Carolina State Highway #6 through St. Matthews there were still more than a handful of cotton fields yet to be harvested. By Wednesday, they had all been gobbled up by the lurching farm machinery, celebrating the heart of the autumn season while spreading a light fog of dust. In a bittersweet maneuver - I watched as father time, mother nature and mankind reclaimed another crop from the southern soil.
