Avoid Highways - Exploring South Carolina - Chapter One

I spent three days this week wandering around South Carolina between Columbia and Orangeburg being in the right place at wrong time. At least that's what I learned as I dove into another project, where I wander with purpose through the South Carolina countryside. Whenever I drive around I am often absorbed by a form of photo anxiety where my brain explodes as I pass by something that interests me. It's strong magic because the feeling comes not because I have to make an image of something specific (say for an assignment) but rather because I like how it looks. But like most humans in their vehicles, I've got some place to be and stopping is not an option. Inspired recently by my photo travels over the holidays in Florida, I've found some mental relief exploring the midlands.

Here's me on Tuesday afternoon somewhere in Calhoun County trying to find where I dropped my phone. Luckily, I left a nice trail.
