I caught the introductions from Governor Nikki Haley at the State of the State and immediately jetted from the capital. I drove straight to Dunkin' Donuts and ordered two chocolate covered cake rings. "You coming from the concert?" said the dude at the counter. Perplexed for a moment until I realized I still had at my press credentials on - which if flipped around in the right direction displays a Darius Rucker photo pass. "Oh no," I said, "I just came from the State of the State."

A confused look washed over the Dunkin' Donuts employee and I remembered how ridiculous that sounds and how I've always thought they should name it something else. I started to explain, "It's like the State of the Union, where Nikki Haley talks about..."

"...how shitty it is here." He finished my sentence, gave me some change and I walked out with a good laugh and two donuts.
