St. Augustine - Castillo de San MarcosSt. Augustine - Castillo de San Marcos

What did Santa bring you this year?

He brought me fog. And I think I like fog more than Spanish moss. And I love Spanish moss. Not as much as snow in South Carolina, but probably more than Spanish moss. And on Christmas morning, that fog crept around a seventeenth century Spanish fort in the nation's oldest city, where Ponce de Leon landed in 1513 in search of the legendary Fountain of Youth. Most of the humans had yet to emerge and I had it mostly to myself. Too bad there wasn't Spanish moss on the fort.

I spent a few days down in Flagler county with my mom, dad and brother and the weather was pretty nice. It was what I would consider hot at some times and I live in a city with an unfortunate nickname of "Famously Hot." There's a map below to show you the places I explored, including a hike to another old ass fort on Rattlesnake Island. Jacksonville is there just for reference.
