Judy Braau of Demark leads a pack through the rhythm section at the UCI BMX World Cup Finals Friday evening in Rock Hill, SC. Braau placed fourth overall at the event. Over 200 pro elite and Olympic BMX hopefuls from over 25 countries competed in the final event in a global series including England, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Argentina. According to many of the world's best BMX riders - Rock Hill, South Carolina is home to one of the best BMX facilities in the world. As each heat ended during Friday's competition, a track side big screen featured interviews with winning riders. In varying accents, the winners gave overwhelming praise to the Novant Health BMX Supercross Track, a year old facility near the North Carolina Border.

In the final UCI BMX World Cup weekend event of the year over 200 pro elite cyclists and Olympic hopefuls from over 25 countries competed for points and championship qualifications. Maris Strombergs of Latvia and Mariana Pajon of Colombia captured first place finishes in the men's and women's divisions.
