"The word deflowered sounds like this pretty word but it's like this horrible thing. Some bad thing that somebody does to you. They take that thing away from you and ruin you," Athens based burlesque performer Dee Flowered remarked last light during a question and answer session at Frame of Mind in West Columbia. "I actually think of it as, Dee - as in me - flowering. I loved having a name that could be seen as negative at first - for stupid archaic reasons - and taking it and making it something positive that sounds weird and bubbly."

With the Shamelessy Hot Sh series, Mark Plessinger and Frame of Mind continue bringing burlesque to West Columbia and Valentines weekend presents opportune timing. Last night's event featured a theme of "Love" while tonight's 8pm event will make the transition to "Lust." Mark says there are "a scant few" tickets remaining at the door.
