Some hide -- U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson, R-SC.

Some plant supporters in the front rows and have donut holes and coffee -- Tom Rice, another GOP member of the house from the Palmetto State.

And some fully embrace standing on a stage in front of a thousand screaming liberals -- Lindsey Graham, the Republican senator from South Carolina.

COLUMBIA, SC - MARCH 25: Constituents disagree with Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) during a town hall meeting March 25, 2017 in Columbia, South Carolina. Protestors have been showing up in large numbers to congressional town hall meetings across the nation. (Photo by Sean Rayford/Getty Images)

Yesterday I attended my sixth congressional town hall meeting of 2017 and for the first time it took place in the town I live. No long drive to Hilton Head or Clemson. When I saw some of the first TV news reports from a town hall early in the year I immediately placed it on my bucket list.

I've often told my friends that I'm a fan of the absurd.

And this is absurd. But I guess it really isn't -- considering the divisive political climate in the nation. Last week, my friend and former roommate, Wes Wolfe, a writer at the Brunswick News (GA), reminded us about journalism's role producing the first drafts of history. Rest assured, I'm truly appreciative to serve this function and the opportunity to witness the educational theater.

As I waited for Rep. Graham to exit the restroom, so that I could photograph him as he walked to his car, I talked to a security guard about the upcoming Garnet and Black Spring football game. But before we could get to far along, the congressman exited and walked up to me. "Did you like that?" He said enthusiastically.

In hindsight, my reply should have been. "Not as much as you did." But nope, I failed.

"Good to see you again," I replied.

Make no mistake, Lindsey Graham had a good time. And for me, let's just say I'm happy not to be forced in a pen with thousands of southern Republicans screaming at me. No Secret Service ready to choke slam.

Lindsey Graham has been unmarried his entire life. Delving deeper into his personal experiences, he once stated that he was on the verge of marrying Sylvia, a flight attendant he met in Germany.
