Go Fish! Springtime in the Soda City - Photos

April 09, 2013  •  8 Comments

I'm experiencing a strange personal dream episode of MSNBC's Lock Up. It's as if the hand of god has reached down through the clouds with a giant yellow highlighter and painted new growth on the springtime trees with childlike abandon. It's nature's money shot and it's really beautiful - but my body can't physically handle all the tree sperm. I've lost 8 pounds in two weeks and I've been to the doctor more during those two weeks than in the last five years. Breathing can be tough. I've spent enough money on the doc visits and prescriptions to buy an really nice wide angle. But all I can think about is getting back to riding my bike and running around town again. I'm tired of being a prisoner of the pollen.

There was brief two-day period since the pollen storm arrived that I was able to get around town. I've been working on multiple special projects (including another exhibit - this time at Cafe Strudel in West Columbia and a coordinating fishing report with help from Chris Powell - avid fisherman and member of the Columbia band The Fishing Journal) so I've been down by the river during the short time I've been able to go outside and brave the fallout.  If you are curious, the other project employs action figures and their drinking habits.

Bill Maher recently visited Columbia for a performance at the Koger Center and he spoke of the Soda City as a beautiful town. It's gorgeous actually. Stay tuned for boozing action figures and a regular Columbia fishing report and maybe some images from the South Carolina Spring football game on Saturday afternoon. Go Gamecocks.
