In Photos: Turkey Day in Chucktown

Just after the sun rose over the Atlantic on Thanksgiving morning I parked downtown on King Street in Charleston, South Carolina. I had about five hours to wander around in the cold with my camera until I was supposed to meet at my cousin's home in North Chucktown. I even joined the Turkey Day 5K for about a quarter mile - not an easy feat with a DSLR, a 70-200 and two other lenses. 

For the first time in a about a decade I didn't tend bar on Turkey Night and I'm thankful I was able spend my holiday with a camera, eat a meal with family from Maryland and hang out with good friends in Columbia at night. Twenty Fifteen - no longer just a fantasy destination in a Sonic Youth song.
