Last night in West Columbia, throngs of young Christian metalcore fans wrapped around New Brookland to catch the Sioux City based band For Today and to sweat and jump over one another. "I gotta give it up to that kid who tried to stage dive, it's the thought that counts," said lead vocalist Mattie Montgomery after watching a greenhorn who made three consecutive unsuccessful attempts to return to the pit after a short crowd surf washed him onstage. Next time dude, get a running start and jump. It's not called stage lie.
