From behind the bar at New Brookland Tavern on Monday night, a War Eagle bartender tapped me on the shoulder as The Fishing Journal mastered the sounds of the turn of the century. But before I could turn to see why Joey Parker had interrupted my experience, the words came out of his mouth, "Spurrrier Retired," he said. I think I made this face. But only for a moment because I knew the unpredictable track record that Coach Spurrier had. We were all well aware.

What a run. Thanks coach.
