Since Sunday, I've been meandering across the southeastern United States, spending most of my time in New Orleans. The weather has been amazing and I'm guessing I walked at least a dozen miles in the Crescent City. Decatur Street treated me well - I visited Coop's twice and also snagged a couple of the famous Irish Frozen Coffee concoctions next door at Molly's. I played a game of birthday kickball lit only by two car headlights in a former canal. Second base was a keg and game rules required possession of a beverage at all times. My team lost. I had a good time hanging out with Soda City homies Josh, Justine and Michelle in their Bywater shotgun dwelling and had a banging breakfast at Satsuma down the street.

About halfway to New Orleans I realized that if I traveled with purpose, that I could catch a second line parade. For those unfamiliar, it's kinda like a tornado/party/funeral/concert/parade. It's one of my favorite things about the Crescent City. After three nights, I continued towards Dallas and north to Shreveport where I spent the night in a hotel casino on the Red River. From the nineteenth floor on Wednesday evening I began moving images I shot in Nola to prepare for editing. Long story short, this is where I found that I lost two days of shooting due to corrupted files. It was somewhat devastating at first, but I eventually dismissed it by being thankful that at least no client would be pissed at me.

After another day of beautiful weather and a five hour drive avoiding highways through Texas, I arrived at my final destination in Dallas yesterday. Since last night's rehearsal dinner party at Sammy's Barbeque it's been raining and it's suppose to rain the rest of the weekend. Once again flood alerts are buzzing through my phone. We go bowling in a hour.
