After dropping my tuxedo off with the concierge at the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek in Dallas, Texas I jumped back in the vehicle and headed east on Sunday. Eventual destination: Columbia, South Carolina with an undetermined time frame to reach the Soda City.

Overwhelming storms had just ravaged parts of Texas and I had no intention of traveling in the storm so I slow rolled onto Texas farm roads towards New Orleans. By the time I reached Beaumont, Texas I figured I'd stop for the night to let the bad weather get ahead of me. On Monday I ignored interstates as the rains slowly moved across Louisiana. It took me about eight or nine hours to do a typical four hour drive on I-10. I was greeted with a most pleasant day of traveling but wish I would have had about 80 hours to explore the route. If you are a fan of seeing, make sure to pass through Franklin, Berwick and Raceland, LA on your next trip between Nola and Dallas.
