I knew this wasn't your average sporting event when my friend Katie showed up and showered a participant with champagne before the start behind 701 Whaley at the Cola Town Bicycle Cooperative. Welcome to the 2015 EasterCat Columbia Alley Cat Bike Race, an amalgamation of a race, pub crawl and scavenger hunt. First stop and task: Chug a beer at Conquest Brewing and then hightail it to the West Columbia Amphitheatre. The alley cat tasks took participants to the Low Rise Dam on the canal, Blue Sky's Tunnel Vision, McKissick Museum, Kraken Gastropub and ended at CJs in Five Points.
