If one were to judge my travels in and around Columbia, SC by this edit of Instragram photos I've made during the last three months, it would appear that my favorite haunts in the Soda City would be at the river, music venues and in parking garages. And outside of being at my house, that's a fairly accurate scenario. It's also insightful on how habits effect themes in creative endeavors and a good reason I should get a john boat. Anybody wanna give me a boat? I'll give you some ad space right here.

I've alluded to it before. I'm a big fan of the Gram. Imagine (or maybe you know) what Tinder is like for the nympho. It's special to me because of how much it has taught me about photography and how it got my foot in the door to commercial photography - because of a photo I made of a leaf in a puddle. The app encourages the use of the square format and sticks you at 50mm. I normally make my images inside the app itself with it's slow and clunky operation, so it's much less reliant on a moment. I'm not shooting five frames a second here. Composition, contrast and color suddenly take center stage in this visual landscape. It has forced me to concentrate on elements of the image that had previously taken a back seat in my process. And now, when I pick up my camera that doesn't also YouTube and and do email, I get to incorporate those things I've been able to learn using Instagram.

I love how you not only discussed the physical aspects of dance but also touched on its cultural and emotional significance. It's a beautiful reminder of how dance transcends mere movement and becomes a form of expression and connection.
