Shortly after pallbearers had carried the body of South Carolina State Senator Rev. Clementa Pinckney back into Emanuel AME Church on Thursday evening, where he and eight others were murdered last week, the Sons of Allen - Men of Ministry filed through the crowd. They were singing: "When Jesus comes, oh the trumpet will sound loud. When my Savior comes, all the saints in Christ shall rise. Oh, I’m glad I’ve been changed since He lifted me. I want to be ready when Jesus comes."

A journalist walked by with the group, recording audio and visibly moved by the moment. Two women made room for two little girls from Atlanta at the barricade as their father explained what was happening. When I heard those singing voices approach I knew something special was happening - I grabbed my phone and mashed the record button. It's the only audio I have from the day and one of the most moving scenes I've been witness to.
