Thousands wait in blasting SC sun to honor Clementa Pinckney

Six days following the "Holy City Massacre," the body of South Carolina Senator Clementa Pinckney traveled down Main Street in Columbia, SC on a horse drawn caisson. Unsuspecting sidewalk diners found their meals interrupted by the procession and as hundreds lined the street, it traveled to the second floor of the capital building. Over four thousand mourners waited outside in line in the blasting sun for chance to view the body. Tomorrow, the state senator's body will travel to Ridgeland and then on to Charleston for a viewing at Emanuel AME Church from 6-8pm. The funeral will take place on Friday morning in Charleston.
