Like a dog wiping it’s ass across the carpet, the back end of a tandem kayak slowly took on water Saturday afternoon when a young couple launched from the shore of the Congaree River during the inaugural Brookland Beach Bash in West Columbia, SC. “That pretty much sums up our relationship,” said the young woman in the front, laughing uncontrollably, as they struggled to return the defective vessel to the shore.

The Bash, organized by Soda City and Palmetto Outdoor Center the event featured free kayaking and tubing, live music, food trucks, beer, guided walks, badminton, volleyball, a showing of The Sandlot… and a wedding at Stone River.
