Photos: BrickUniverse wows Lego fans in Columbia

“I started putting some stands together with the north end zone seats and when I put in the walkway - you start to get a feel of how big things are gonna be - I had no idea it was going to get to the size it was," says Charleston’s David Robinson about the Lego replica of Williams Brice Stadium that he built with his son.


Their latest project, a replica of Founders Park, along with dozens of other stunning builds using the colorful blocks, are on display this weekend at the Columbia Metro Convention Center, during the Brick Universe Convention. The convention continues Sunday with two sessions, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.

So what’s next for the Gamecock fans? Robinson says a plastic version of USC’s Horseshoe is the leading candidate.
