I tracked down Dylan Dickerson of Dear Blanca at last night's Arts & Draughts to not talk about their new record or the band's show tonight at New Brookland with Junior Astronomers, The Howling Man and Keath Mead.

What is your favorite city to play out of town?

As far as in the southeast – Charlotte. Outside of the southeast I have a feeling that Baltimore will be my favorite. We played this random block party in Baltimore and we were the only band on the bill and it made me fall in love with – the attitude of the locals there. We've only got one there under our belt, so it's hard to prove.

If you opened a restaurant, what would it's theme and name be?

A Pee Wee's Playhouse BBQ joint. Pee Wee's Pork House. With talking furniture and a cowboy that comes up to a window. That's how your order is taken – there's window at every seat and a cowboy comes up and takes it.

That would work in Charleston right?

I think it would work in Cayce, where I live.

When was the last time you did too much of something?

It's probably eating, but I think I drank too much last time I played here (the museum) with Richard Buckner. I felt it the next day – I felt awful. That's how you know you're getting old. You drink half as much as you used to drink and feel twice as bad. And I'm only 23 - so what does that say about me?

If I handed you ten grand after we finish this interview, what would you do with it?

I would buy a hot tub and a handful of French bulldogs. Trust me, French bulldogs are kind of expensive, so you'd only be able to get a few.

Will time travel, aliens or humankind's self-destruction come first?

I hope not aliens, because space is terrifying and I want nothing to do with anything that comes from there. Time travel would be the one I hope for but it will probably be the self-destruction of humankind.
